Terms of Service

About these terms

These terms cover bookings made with SlickSkins, a vehicle styling workshop based at Unit C4, Uskvale Park, Pontypool NP4 0JL. By submitting an inquiry, paying a deposit, or bringing your vehicle in, you agree to be bound by these terms. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Quotes and bookings

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date we send them unless we state otherwise on the quote itself. Final pricing depends on the vehicle's condition on inspection and on the materials selected (vinyl finish or brand, tint shade, powder colour, PPF tier). If something on the day pushes scope outside what we quoted - extra panels, paintwork that needs decontamination, aftermarket trim that needs removing - we will tell you before we start the work and confirm any revised price with you in writing.

A booking is only confirmed once the deposit has cleared in our account and we have replied to confirm the date.

Deposits and payment

Most services require a deposit to lock in your slot. The amount is shown on the quote and is non-refundable in the circumstances set out below.

The balance is payable on the day of collection. We accept bank transfer or cash. We do not currently accept card payments at the unit; please pay by transfer in advance if cash is inconvenient.

For larger bookings (typically wraps and full-coverage PPF) we offer a 0% interest payment plan via a third-party finance provider. Eligibility, agreement terms, and any associated fees are set by that provider and disclosed before you sign.

Cancellation, no-shows and rescheduling

We understand plans change. The earlier you let us know, the easier it is for us to fill your slot, and the more flexible we can be on your deposit:

  • More than 7 days' notice - we will refund your deposit in full, or roll it onto a new booking, your choice.
  • Between 48 hours and 7 days - we will refund 50% of the deposit or roll the full amount onto a new booking.
  • Less than 48 hours, or you do not turn up - the deposit is retained to cover the lost workshop time and any material we have already cut or pre-ordered.

If we have to cancel or reschedule on our side, we will offer you a new slot or a full refund of your deposit, whichever you prefer.

Once work has started, partial-completion charges apply if you choose to cancel mid-job. We will discuss this with you on the day if it comes up.

Vehicle condition and acceptance

Vinyl wraps, paint protection film and tint adhesive bond best to a surface in good condition. Before any work starts we inspect the vehicle for damage, rust, rattle-can paint, or contamination that could affect the result. We will photograph anything we find and flag it to you before we proceed.

We may decline to start - or stop part-way - if we discover a condition that means we cannot deliver a result we are happy to put our name on. In those cases we charge only for materials already consumed and for the time already spent, and we explain clearly why.

Please leave the vehicle clean inside if you can; remove personal belongings from areas we will be working in (door cards, boot, dash for tinting); and let us know in advance about any aftermarket modifications that may need removing.

Warranty

Each service carries a warranty against the manufacturing defects listed below. The warranty covers labour to remove and reapply the relevant material; it does not cover damage caused by accident, third-party repair, abrasive cleaning chemicals, or failure to follow our aftercare guidance.

  • Window tinting - lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, and discolouration of the film, for as long as you own the vehicle.
  • Vinyl wrapping - 1 year on the install. Vinyl material warranties (peel, lift, colour shift) are set by the material manufacturer and we will help you claim under those.
  • Paint Protection Film (PPF) - 10-year manufacturer warranty against yellowing and self-healing failure. Install warranty is 1 year.
  • Powder coating - 1 year against flaking, chipping, or fading on wheels handled with reasonable care.
  • Chameleon windscreen tint - 1 year against bubbling and peeling.

To make a warranty claim, email info@slickskins.co.uk with photos and a brief description. We will arrange a free inspection at the unit and put it right where the claim is valid.

Aftercare

On collection we provide an aftercare sheet specific to the work we have done. A few headlines:

  • Tinting and wraps: do not wash for 7 days. Avoid pressure-washing edges for 30 days. Do not roll the rear windows down on a tint for 4 days.
  • PPF: do not wash for 48 hours. Avoid abrasive sponges and chemicals containing acetone, kerosene or strong solvents.
  • Powder coating: handle the wheels carefully when refitting. Powder is hard but not impervious to kerb damage.

The warranty above assumes you have followed the aftercare we provide. If you are unsure, ask before you wash.

Liability

We carry public-liability insurance covering work carried out at the unit. If something goes wrong on our side - we damage your vehicle, mis-apply a finish, or our work fails outside the warranty due to our fault - we will put it right and cover reasonable consequential loss up to the value of the work we invoiced you for.

We are not liable for:

  • Damage caused by underlying conditions disclosed to us at the inspection (e.g. paint that lifts because it was previously poorly resprayed and we proceeded at your request).
  • Indirect or consequential losses such as loss of earnings, hire car costs unrelated to our work, or loss of vehicle value beyond the cost of remedy.
  • Personal items left in the vehicle.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be limited under English law.

Privacy

We process your personal data in line with our Privacy Notice. By making a booking you confirm you have read and understood it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Bookings are governed by the version of the terms that was live on the day you submitted your inquiry. Material changes that affect existing bookings will be communicated to you in writing.

Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales. The English courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
